*dominican republic*

I realize this post is long overdue...my apologies.
The Dominican Republic was a-ma-zing.
Its hard for my naive mind to wrap around the conditions that these beautiful people live in.
Everyday.
We traveled to 4 different villages and saw over 500 people.
Most didn't even own a toothbrush.
And yet, I've never seen such happy people. Content. Gracious. Giving.
Have you ever wondered how you got so lucky?
"Where much is given, much is expected."
I couldn't help but hum this hymn in my head the whole 2 weeks.
"Count your many blessings. Name.them.one.by.one"

Most children needed about 3 extractions due to badly decayed teeth.

I would do an extensive cleaning and then give each child a toothbrush.

A little excited about my first American meal in 2 weeks..

The children are beyond beautiful..Trying to convince the husband to adopt someday..

I traveled to the Dominican Republic expecting to change their lives.
Funny how life works.
Mine was changed far more.
I'm forever grateful for you Republica of Dominicana.
